About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is currently looking for a talented and dynamic Full-Time d|bar Host who shares our passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do! d|bar by Chef Daniel Boulud is located in the historic Village of Yorkville, Toronto’s most luxurious shopping and dining district. With an impressive view of Yorkville Avenue, this lively cocktail bar in Toronto is the perfect place for a drink before or after your meal, or make d|bar the evening’s destination and choose from a menu of casual fare that’s ideal for sharing. By nature of the position, the position is the guests’ first impression of the restaurant and bar. They greets guests promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact and a smile. Utilizing Open Table, the individual takes reservations, reviews the daily reservation book and has the ability to seat guests with/without reservations. They have a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for that day. A principle role within the restaurant and bar, the Host is familiar with server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns and their maximum workload capacity. They are also familiar with frequent guests and knows their names and preferences.

Requirements

  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and spoken English is required.
  • Continuous standing for the majority of the shift.
  • Confident, outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any request.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure is essential.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Smart Serve certification is a must.
  • Legal work authorization in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • At minimum 1 year previous Host experience in a fast paced food and beverage operation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and command of English language.
  • Additional language a definite asset for career growth.
  • Completion of Post Secondary Education in Hospitality or related field.

Responsibilities
