About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a remote Cytogenetics Analyst to join their team. This role focuses on onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work, using digital platforms such as Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI). No wet lab or bench work is involved, as this position is fully analysis-based. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
• 1 year or more experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• 2 years or more experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Responsibilities

• Perform FISH analysis, which includes analysis and imaging of digitized images
• Cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
• Review of cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment, software and applications to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Report any and all problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner
• Collaborate with general supervisor on protocol/policy development and review
• Provide feedback to senior technologists on technical matters
• Understand and comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe work environment
