Cylinder Maintenance Technician

About The Position

This role will require you to perform visual and physical inspections on cylinders before filling to determine whether retesting or repairs are required. You will conduct cylinder conversions, including de-valving, valving, stripping, and repairing valves. Operate hydrostatic and ultrasonic cylinder testers. Maintain required certifications to properly certify cylinders as retested. Operate a forklift to support material handling and movement of cylinders. Receive incoming cylinders, valves, and cylinder maintenance supplies; diagnose and repair cylinder neck leaks and safety-related leaks. You will inspect and identify defective cylinders, scrapping cylinders when appropriate. Responsible for performing painting, housekeeping, and light plant maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Able to lift and handle up to 40 - 70 lbs. as needed
Mechanically inclined with a strong, self-motivated work ethic

Nice To Haves

Experience in the gas industry or cylinder maintenance is preferred
