About The Position

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Cylinder Fill Operator Trainee, 2nd shift. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide. This is an entry-level position focused on training and assisting primary operators with the clean agent process and packaging of clean agent containers, with an emphasis on learning and development. The position is for the 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday, 3:15pm-1:45am. The training schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, after which the employee will transition to the permanent 2nd shift schedule.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and follow standard procedure instructions, work orders and engineered drawings.
Exposure to hand tools and mechanical measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
Subject Matter Exposure.
Computer Understanding.
Mechanical-Dexterity.
Mechanical Aptitude.
Housekeeping.
Teamwork.

Nice To Haves

Six plus months manufacturing, mechanical assembly or vocational school training.

Responsibilities

Packages clean agent containers for shipment per bill of material and or a load plan for domestic and international shipments.
Utilizes various lifting devices to handle products (chain hoists, pallet jacks, fork lifts).
Orientation to the Fike International Business System.
Assembles 1" and 3" Impulse valve assemblies for installation into clean agent containers.
Assembles clean agent containers per work order, standard procedure instructions and drawings.
Prepares Non-Conformances as needed in Intelex.
Completes all required work order reporting, transactions and documentation.
Adheres to all safety practices, procedures and supports 6S initiative.
Follows procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures and ISO9001 requirements.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Regular and consistent attendance is required.
