About The Position

The Cycling Specialist is a front-line member of the Specialized retail team, working with riders in person and remotely as a host, mentor, brand advocate, and customer service representative. The role identifies and locates products, services, and experiences that meet riders’ needs, providing timely, frictionless solutions to help them ride longer and better. The specialist creates inclusive, transformative, ride-focused, locally authentic experiences, delivers exceptional rider service, supports rider satisfaction, and helps meet sales and profitability goals.

Requirements

• Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with riders and team members.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, with occasional walking, kneeling, or reaching.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and use proper lifting skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bike shop experience preferred.
• Current or former retail employee with at least one year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver world-class rider service to support ongoing sales and high rider satisfaction.
• Connect with riders, ask questions, listen to their needs, and offer options and advice.
• Encourage purchases, celebrate them, and create a positive impression of the specialist, Specialized, and the purchase process.
• Help create inclusive, transformative, ride-focused, locally authentic, and collaborative experiences for staff and riders, in and outside the store.
• Help meet and maintain visual merchandising standards, restock products as needed, and keep product presentation areas clean and organized.
• Maintain general cleanliness at opening, throughout the day, and at closing, including light janitorial duties.
• Use company literature, resources, and available training to stay current on product features.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
