About The Position

The Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring warehouse/work center inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory. Duties also include miscellaneous warehouse/storage activities to maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing of material receipts, transfers, and issues.

Requirements

  • Employee must be able to effectively complete count, including utilizing equipment to perform the count such as scales, RF Gen scanner, etc.
  • Employee must be able to effectively work with computers and computer software.
  • Employee must be able to safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment, including overhead crane and fall protection system.
  • Employee must be able to read and/or write blueprints, bill-of-materials, and other written materials.
  • Employee must be able to perform the physical requirements listed in that section of this job description.
  • Employee must look for efficiencies in processes as it relates to inventory and cycle counting.
  • Employee must perform the assigned tasks in a manner in which they meet or exceed the required production, safety, and quality service level.
  • Employee must be able to effectively support and act as a Material Handler and Receiving as needed.
  • Knowledge of and ability to complete cycle count.
  • Ability to read drawings and bill-of-materials in order to locate parts and raw materials.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (including crane and fall-protection systems) indoors, outdoors and on a variety of driving surfaces including docks, ramps, roadways and gravel as needed.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize daily work schedule based on item counts needed and discrepancies.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools. Must be competent in math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to determine the weight of a load with use of scales as needed to perform cycle count.
  • Ability to analyze data to investigate inventory variances.
  • Ability to perform job duties with little supervision and ability to determine when supervision/management support is needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and RF Gen computer systems and databases preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform counts of parts and materials.
  • Enter information into work within computer database.
  • Recognize and resolve material discrepancies/issues and work to resolve with the support of proper authorities.
  • Ensure materials are in proper location. Conduct searches in order to locate misclassified or negative inventory.
  • Operate material handling equipment and support material handling team members as needed.
  • Assist in receiving material and complete all documentation supporting this process as needed.
  • Assist in unloading items off trucks utilizing overhead crane and fall-protection systems. Crane Certification and Fall Protection Certification required.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees, including visitors, security, team members, management, team leaders and plant personnel.
  • Observe and perform all safety and security procedures as it relates to job duties.
  • Perform duties of Nonconforming Materials Coordination (NMC) as required.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Participation in year-end inventory is mandatory.
  • Monitor work order completion status and timeliness.
  • Monitor and reconcile internal and external dunnage inventory (Central Fabrication Facility Only).
  • Ensure all dunnage and parts have scannable tags (Central Fabrication Facility Only).
  • Performs other routine duties as necessary.
