About The Position

The Cybersecurity Specialist role offers an opportunity to leverage experience in Cybersecurity and compliance to support contracts and safeguard the nation. As a systems security and network security engineer, this position requires hands-on experience in Federal security management and a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and management. The role involves leading the development and implementation of security solutions to secure client IT environments and systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and analyzing complex challenges using knowledge of network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems), researching and developing security solutions based on technology trends, and assessing security threats while implementing infrastructure controls. This role closely impacts federal client projects by securing their IT security architecture to safeguard mission systems, with opportunities for mentoring, challenging problem-solving, and learning new tools and skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple complex projects
  • 10+ years of experience managing personnel
  • 10+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role
  • Experience in managing cybersecurity compliance with industry standards like NIST, ISO 27001, or PCI-DSS
  • Experience in federal security management, incident response, and threat intelligence
  • Knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and provide clear, actionable guidance during security incidents
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Certified Information Systems Security Specialist (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in Project Management
  • Experience in managing cybersecurity compliance with industry standards like NIST, ISO 27001, or PCI-DSS in regard to data centers preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
  • Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas, and leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.
