About The Position

Scotiabank’s Threat Monitoring & Response (TMR) team is responsible for detecting, monitoring, and investigating threats. This team is responsible for the coordination of key programs that impact all divisions within the Cybersecurity Operations (CSOps) organization and all of Information Security & Controls (IS&C). Reporting to the Manager, Cybersecurity Investigations, the Cybersecurity Investigator works on Data security cases stemming from the bank’s various security controls. The Cybersecurity Investigator works with a variety of technologies and business lines to remediate and contain events that pose a network or data risk to the bank.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year experience working in a Security Operations Centre or as a Cybersecurity Analyst.
  • Post-secondary education or a minimum of 5 years professional work experience.
  • Advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English.
  • Familiarity with working in large professional organizations.
  • An understanding of basic computing, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Curiosity about emerging threats and technologies and are interested in applying these to the business.
  • Practical hands-on experience at home using publicly available CTFs and labs.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotational 24/7 support model to ensure continuous coverage and rapid incident response.

  • The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
  • Certifications (Sec+, CySA+, Net+, A+, CISSP Associate)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multiple issues and threats that can be occurring simultaneously.

  • Communicate clear, accurate statuses on issues, problems, and cases.
  • Provide solutions for multiple security domains (Security Management, Security Engineering, Identity and Access Management, etc.).

  • Collaborate with various business lines, IT support functions, and IS&C Control functions.
  • Manage incident calls and interface with multiple stakeholders for accountability.
  • Participate in a rotational 24/7 support model to ensure continuous coverage and rapid incident response.
