About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join its Cybersecurity and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) team. The role works with the DHS/CISA Data Services team to design, configure, and deploy Axonius adapters in an enterprise environment at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), under the MAINES contract. The goal is to ensure scalability, resilience, and robust security controls. The position integrates Axonius with data sources including Active Directory, endpoint management tools, cloud platforms, vulnerability scanners, CMDBs, identity providers, and network security tools. It creates, tests, and optimizes custom queries, dashboards, and automated enforcement actions; establishes data ingestion standards and quality checks; and helps define role-based access controls and data governance policies. The engineer participates in the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture documentation through design reviews, implementation, and operational transition. The role produces system design documents, integration diagrams, runbooks, and configuration baselines, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture, security policies, and operational standards. The engineer also contributes to Agile planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives, iterating on platform features and communicating progress, risks, and dependencies through Agile tooling.
