About The Position

The Cybersecurity Engineer will combine technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in the DoD. This role involves understanding the customer’s environment and developing the right systems for their mission. The engineer will leverage knowledge of cybersecurity governance and best practices to achieve cyber governance approvals and cyber risk mitigation, ensuring a compliant and secure system. The position will work with Booz Allen colleagues and the military to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of Space Sensing capabilities. Responsibilities include testing, analyzing, evaluating, validating, and verifying these systems, identifying areas requiring urgent mitigation, and developing solutions with advanced technology. The role encourages growth by merging innovative engineering methodologies and cross-disciplinary coordination to create future solutions for Space Sensing in the Air Force.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer supporting space-related Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, and hardware systems
  • Experience providing input to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process activities and related documentation such as NIST 800-53 Rev 5
  • Experience with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Experience developing and managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to track and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Experience drafting cyber Interconnection Security Agreement (ISAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Service Level Agreement (SLAs), and other non-RMF documentation
  • Knowledge of networking and cyber architecture as it pertains to networking, including Demilitarized Zones (DMZs), Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), or Security Information and Event Management systems (SIEMs)
  • Ability to manage cyber documentation processes throughout the RMF lifecycle
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • DoD 8140 Level II Certification such as Security+ Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with XACTA or other cybersecurity, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms
  • Experience with cloud-based systems
  • Experience with Documented Operational Security Architecture (DOSA)
  • Experience with space-based remote sensing systems
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related field preferred
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Information Security a plus
  • DoD 8140 Level III Certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification, including ISSEP or ISSAP Certification
