We’re looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the secure deployment and continuous authorization of LIGER, an enterprise AI platform built for federal missions, into a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) environment. You’ll join a small, high-visibility team and own the security work that lets LIGER reach production at CBP and stay there: maintaining the ATO posture, driving vulnerability management, and partnering with CBP cyber stakeholders to keep the platform compliant as it evolves. This position requires an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation; U.S. citizenship is required. This is hands-on cyber engineering, not paper compliance. You’ll work alongside platform engineers, ISSOs, and the CBP security team to harden deployments, validate controls, and resolve findings against real systems. If you want to do federal cybersecurity in an environment that ships fast and treats security as part of the product, keep reading. LIGER sits within LMI’s Chief Technology Office. We’re a small, high-visibility team building AI tools for federal agencies. The culture is more startup than traditional government contractor; we move fast, solve problems in design spikes rather than scheduled reviews, and care more about outcomes than process. That said, we’re building for users who need reliability and trust, so craft and attention to detail matter, especially in security. You’ll work daily with the platform lead, engineering team, and product manager, and directly with CBP cyber stakeholders. Security and compliance are foundational to how LIGER ships, and this is a real opportunity to define how the platform maintains its CBP authorization while continuing to iterate. LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed. Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors—helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.
