About The Position

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Team. This role involves performing a variety of technical and analytical project tasks related to specialized Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity engineering. The engineer will integrate electronic processes and methodologies to identify, analyze, and resolve complex system-level or technology-related IA issues. A key aspect of the role is analyzing information security requirements to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policies, directives, and standards. The position also requires applying analytical and systematic approaches to improve cybersecurity workflows, organizational efficiency, and planning processes. Security engineering support will be provided across all phases of the system development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration. The engineer will also develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions, including intrusion prevention, detection, and response mechanisms, and will be responsible for creating, customizing, and testing SNORT signatures. Configuration and management of Trellix IPS Manager and Check Point IPS Blade systems are also part of the responsibilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate IA and cybersecurity controls within enterprise and mission systems is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant IT experience, with demonstrated work in cybersecurity or information assurance engineering.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience creating customized SNORT signatures.
  • DoD 8570/8140 CND-IS certification
  • CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker
  • CFR – CyberSec First Responder
  • CHFI – Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator
  • Cloud+
  • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III
  • CASP+ CE – CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CE)
  • CCNP Security – Cisco Certified Network Professional Security
  • CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor
  • CISSP (or Associate) – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
  • GCED – GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender
  • GCIH – GIAC Certified Incident Handler
  • CCSP – Certified Cloud Security Professional
  • Must possess a Top Secret clearance with a favorable NACLC and be eligible for an IT-I (Tier 5/SSBI) Critical-Sensitive clearance.
