Cybersecurity Engineer II

Cox Communications•Atlanta, GA
•Hybrid

About The Position

The Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM) team within Enterprise Risk & Security builds and operates DASH, Cox Automotive’s compliance monitoring platform. DASH integrates security and infrastructure data from sources including CrowdStrike, Wiz, Qualys, Akamai, AWS, ServiceNow, and GitHub, and turns that data into controls, scoring, and dashboards used by engineering teams and senior leaders to understand and improve security posture. The team works like a product engineering group, using an Agile lifecycle, GitHub-based CI/CD, and AI-assisted, spec-driven development. The Cybersecurity Engineer II will extend DASH by building API-based ingestion from security and cloud platforms and developing an AWS-hosted reporting application. The role also contributes new controls, Snowflake data models, and self-service tools for engineering teams. The position works with security, IAM, cloud, and engineering partners to understand data and deliver working features. The role is hybrid, with the ability to work remotely part of the week, and is a day-shift position with no travel required.

  • Build and maintain a full-stack reporting application in AWS, including the front end, API layer, and supporting infrastructure, with attention to performance, access control, and usability.
  • Develop self-service tools that let engineering teams interact directly with CCM data, including submitting suppressions and exceptions or receiving automated notifications.
  • Model and maintain data in Snowflake, writing well-tested SQL to power controls, scoring, and trend reporting.
  • Contribute new compliance controls and reporting domains as the program expands into new security domains.
  • Define infrastructure as code and deliver through GitHub Actions pipelines with automated testing, environment promotion, and secure release practices.
  • Write clear specifications and documentation, and use AI-assisted development tools as part of the workflow.
  • Partner with security, IAM, cloud, and engineering teams to understand their data and turn their needs into working features.
