About The Position

The Product Safety and Security (PS&S) Design Engineer is a specialist responsible for developing Product Safety and Security controls for assigned products. The role delivers verified PS&S concepts and design specifications by selecting appropriate design-engineering methods, analyzing requirements and resolving technical questions, integrating controls into hardware and software designs, deriving specifications from approved control designs, and documenting and verifying requirements in collaboration with design and test engineers. The position calls for problem solving, quality focus, adaptability, conceptual thinking, collaborative relationship-building, and a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. The employee must comply with company policies and safety regulations and perform duties safely.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
• Comprehension of vision hardware and software, as well as Product Safety and Security engineering methods and design patterns.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or CEH.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, such as ISO 21434 or ISO 27001.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Find and apply the best method for each Product Safety and Security design-engineering activity.
• Analyze incoming Product Safety and Security requirements and resolve open technical questions.
• Add Product Safety and Security controls as elements and functions to existing hardware and software designs.
• Derive design specifications from reviewed and approved Product Safety and Security control designs.
• Document and verify added software and hardware requirements with relevant design and test engineers.
• Maintain honesty, integrity, and confidentiality regarding company matters.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, and perform duties safely.
