About The Position
Peraton’s Space & Intelligence Sector is seeking an experienced Automated Software Test Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks that ensure software quality and reliability. The role supports ongoing development by creating scalable test solutions, improving test coverage, and contributing to software quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The position is 100% onsite in Peraton’s Herndon SCIF.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Extensive experience with automated software testing.
- Experience with automated test tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, JMeter, SoapUI, or JUnit.
- Experience documenting test plans and procedures.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing existing automated software testing scripts.
- Experience in an Agile software development environment utilizing Python.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Software development experience in a virtual environment such as AWS.
- Experience working with developers to ensure test coverage and quality gates.
- Experience with Jenkins and GitLab.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Design and implement scalable automated test frameworks and harnesses.
- Collaborate with developers to identify testing needs and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and document defects with clear, actionable detail.
- Support manual testing when needed and help define QA best practices.
- Contribute to requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning when necessary.
