About The Position

The Cyber Security Analyst II will support Cyber Florida’s Security Operations Center (SOC) Apprenticeship Program and contribute to initiatives within the Florida Cyber Hub. This role is responsible for monitoring and analyzing security events using tools such as SIEM, DLP, IDP, and threat intelligence platforms to identify potential incidents and threats. The analyst will document and respond to security incidents, produce threat advisories and reports, and manage issues in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, providing support to business partners and end users, and developing clear technical documentation. This position also plays a key role in mentoring and training junior staff and student analysts within the SOC. The analyst will contribute cybersecurity engineering expertise to enhance SOC operations and effectiveness. In addition, the Cyber Security Analyst II will support Cyber Florida’s research efforts for the Rural and Municipal Utility Cybersecurity (RMUC) program, beginning in Summer 2026. Responsibilities in this area include assisting with Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) planning, participating in realistic cybersecurity exercises conducted on a live cyber range, and supporting SOC training, operations, and event management.
