About The Position

Duncan Solutions, LLC, is a full-service transportation management company that focuses on connecting people, technology, and data to make cities more livable and efficient. As a leading provider of parking and tolling management solutions, we support municipal and commercial clients with citation processing, debt collection, DMV registered owner identification, back-office transaction processing, image review, customer service center and customer experience (CX) operations, integrated on-street parking management, and more. This is a remote position with eligibility in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, MD, MA, MI, MO, MN, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV, VT, D.C. Candidates must reside in one of the following locations for consideration. Please note: Duncan Solutions, LLC, does not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. This role will offer $115,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location. Employees may also be eligible for performance-based incentives and additional benefits as part of our total rewards package. Flexible Monday–Friday schedule aligned to business hours, with participation in after-hours, weekends, or on-call support rotations as needed. The IT Solutions Engineer - Cyber is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security controls that protect enterprise systems, networks, and data. This role applies deep technical expertise to secure infrastructure, integrate security into system architecture, and support high-availability, high-performance environments. The IT Solutions Engineer - Cyber proactively identifies and mitigates risks, responds to complex security incidents, and collaborates with architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure systems meet stringent security, compliance, and resilience requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint protection
  • Experience with AWS cloud security
  • Experience with SASE, SWG, CASB, ZTNA, Cloud SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, and data classification tools
  • Experience designing or implementing Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
  • Understanding of encryption, authentication, and secure protocols
  • Foundational troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to follow established technical standards and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 5 years of experience in IT Security or Cybersecurity roles
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • Exposure to enterprise systems, cloud platforms, APIs and operating systems
  • Experience supporting audit and compliance frameworks, including NIST, PCI-DSS, CJIS, FedRAMP, HIPAA
  • Experience securing AI/ML systems, including model security, data protection, and adversarial threat mitigation
  • Experience securing container platforms and services
  • Basic proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools, automation concepts, or IT service management processes
  • Industry-recognized certifications relevant to enterprise IT Security solutions, infrastructure, cloud platforms, or automation
  • AWS Certifications: Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect (Associate), Security or other industry-recognized, professional qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions across cloud environments, networks and systems, using zero trust architecture principles
  • Monitor security systems and perform troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis for routine and moderately complex issues
  • Stay up to date with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Develop and maintain basic scripts, automation, and tooling to support deployments and operations
  • Assist with application, system, and infrastructure upgrades, patches, and enhancements
  • Participate in implementation activities for small initiatives or defined components of larger efforts
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to Solutions Specialists, Analysts, and support teams
  • Ensure solutions follow security and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned
