About The Position

Leidos currently has an opening for a Cyber Engineer to work at our customer site on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. We are seeking a dedicated, talented, and experienced individual to work as part of a leading-edge research and engineering, design and development team. Leidos seeks mission and team-oriented individuals who enjoy working as an individual contributor in highly collaborative and interdisciplinary teams. Supporting the Chief Modeling/Simulation Office Program, the Cyber Engineer will translate customer requirements into cyber and hardware solutions while operating in a flexible, research-focused environment. The candidate will be responsible for applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), running security scans, and generating cyber artifacts. As part of the cyber team, the candidate will also be responsible for opening support tickets, ordering equipment, and trouble-shooting various user issues, including issues relating to software and hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • Generating cyber security artifacts of stand-alone computers and networks.
  • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Experience with cyber tools: SCAP, ACAS, STIG Viewer.
  • Experience problem solving and troubleshooting IT issues
  • Network Access Storage (NAS) and Local Area Network (LAN) experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows 11, Server 2016 – 2025 and a variety of Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Access
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently under minimal direction as part of multi-functional engineering team.
  • Possess outstanding written/oral communications skills; as well as good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Current IAT II (Security+) Certification
  • Secret DOD Security Clearance
  • MUST be a US Citizen.

  • 10+ years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an engineering team to develop creative and innovative solutions to support hardware development and testbed architecture activities.
  • Support multiple contracts for Cyber Security and Systems Administration tasks.
  • STIG application, compliance scanning, vulnerability remediation.
  • Active Directory Group Policy / Linux Configuration Management
  • Microsoft Windows and Linux patching and regression testing.
  • Work on RMF Authority to Operate (ATO) packages and USAF eMASS.
  • Maintain/troubleshoot/administer users, networks, servers and workstations.
