The Collins Aerospace Cybersecurity & Compliance team is seeking a self-motivated, experienced professional for a new Connected Aviation Cybersecurity and Compliance Leader (CCL) role. Connected Aviation focuses on providing advanced, integrated solutions that enhance connectivity, efficiency, and safety in the aviation industry, including aircraft connectivity, data management, and communication systems. This role is highly visible within the Cyber Mission Support (CMS) team, serving as a central coordination and influence point for cybersecurity matters. The CCL will interact extensively with executive leadership, IT and engineering teams, legal, compliance, privacy, risk management, internal audit, and business unit leaders, translating cyber risk into business impact, aligning priorities, guiding execution, and resolving issues. Externally, the CCL will communicate with regulators, auditors, customers, partners, and key vendors to articulate the organization’s security posture, address findings, negotiate requirements, and build trust. The CCL acts as a trusted extension of the business CISO, using credibility, expertise, and relationships to persuade stakeholders. They translate cybersecurity strategy and risk into business-relevant terms, enabling leaders to understand trade-offs and adopt security practices. Externally, they represent the organization with regulators, auditors, customers, and partners, shaping expectations and reinforcing trust. This role faces complex, high-impact challenges spanning technology, people, and governance, requiring solutions that balance risk reduction with business speed, modernize security amid legacy systems and resource constraints, and translate regulatory findings into operational improvements. The CCL must navigate organizational resistance, competing priorities, and ambiguity. They are accountable for harmonization and cyber issue resolution across the business, escalating strategically to the business CISO when necessary. The CCL champions Enterprise Services Cybersecurity & Compliance mission adoption and acts as a liaison between business areas and the Cybersecurity & Compliance organization, supporting proactive planning and delivery of cyber and compliance services. The goal is to simplify and tailor the delivery and consumption of Cyber & Compliance services for the business unit to reduce risk.
