Requirements

  • Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
  • 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.
  • Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross docking freight process.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
  • Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, bend over, squat, reach, push, pull, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
  • Ability to operate sit down forklift and /or EPJs.
  • Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
  • Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Operates forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
  • Wearing of seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.

Nice To Haves

  • Warehousing certifications a plus.
  • PC skills helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly.
  • Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Load/unload RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely and using proper procedures.
  • Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly.
  • Properly store stock in the warehouse.
  • Provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving handling activities.
  • Use forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
  • Maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist Cross Dock Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Utilize RF Scanner, loading and unloading using forklift, QC, wrapping, staging and labeling.
  • Process outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversee storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the dock staging lanes or racks.
  • Record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
  • Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
  • Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage.
  • Alert Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
  • Report all accidents/incidents, to employee, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
  • Maintain access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
