About The Position
G&W Products, a leading contract metal manufacturer and fabricator founded in 1968, is seeking a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI). This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and safety of our welding operations. The CWI will work closely with weld supervisors, leads, and welders to conduct dimensional and weld inspections, verifying that workmanship meets all required standards. Our facilities in Fairfield, Ohio, span 190,000 square feet and cater to diverse industries such as construction, transportation, energy, and defense.
Requirements
- Must be AWS, Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
- 2+ years of weld inspection
- Must be proficient at reading weld symbols and blue-print drawings
- Capable of using measuring equipment (i.e. fillet gages, calipers, height gages, etc.)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturing experience
- Experience with D1.1 and Ground Combat Vehicle Welding code for aluminum and steel
- Proficiency in GD&T
Responsibilities
- Observe testing and confirming welds meet required standards
- Partner with the Weld Inspection leaders to develop and approve required weld documentation
- Perform weld audits
- Complete other duties as assigned
