About The Position

Perform visual and nondestructive inspections of structural steel welds per AWS D1.1 standards. Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, engineering drawings, and WPS/PQR documents. Verify welder qualifications and maintain certification records. Monitor welding procedures to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code. Conduct pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections. Coordinate NDT testing (UT, MT, PT, RT) as required. Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports. Identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.

Requirements

Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential
Valid AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel certification & experience
High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred)
Minimum 3–5 years of welding inspection experience (structural steel preferred)
Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in documentation and reporting software
Ability to work in various environmental conditions
