The Coating Department Furnace Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the Cutting Tool Process by performing various essential tasks. Loading and unloading furnaces while keeping machines maintained. This role requires a high level of strict skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Additionally, the Furnace Operator will: Perform manufacturing processes per prescribed work instructions. Obtain work materials and place them in appropriate in-process or finished product storage areas, including changing out gas cylinders. Monitor and troubleshoot coating processes via computerized control systems and manual equipment and monitor gas and water supply systems. Perform manual adjustments on computerized control systems as necessary, as instructed by engineering/management. Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and PM activities on furnace components, including using cranes and forklifts. Visually inspect material and processed work for defects such as fallout, flaking, and edge chips using microscopes as required. Obtain and return supplies and materials, clean assigned equipment and area at the end of work assignments and properly store equipment when not in use. Maintain SPC, production, inventory, and other required documentation records, including taking inventory as assigned and completing operational checklists. Understand and work with product prints and specifications (knowledge of procedures/operations). Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned areas and observe company policies. Ensure each phase of the operation is in full compliance with all company, state, and/or federal and environmental regulations. Perform responsibilities with minimal supervision and/or technical assistance, completing work under standardized procedures. Ensure work and service fully meet internal and external customer requirements and expectations, including quality standards.
