About The Position

NXP’s Front End Operations plays an essential role in the company’s success by ensuring manufacturing excellence and delivery of high quality, scalable, and cost-competitive semiconductor devices to create a winning advantage for our customers. This role is for an Equipment Engineer responsible for CVD in a high-volume manufacturing facility. The engineer will identify and reduce sources of variation, reduce machine faults, and reduce defectivity. They will define and write tool maintenance procedures, improve tool availability, improve Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). Additionally, the role involves training technicians and peers, improving cost performance, specifying, sourcing, and qualifying new equipment and parts, and participating on and/or leading cross-functional teams. The position also supports development and transfer activities.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in an engineering or science discipline
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret equipment and process performance data and produce a timely action plan to resolve recurring failures
  • Demonstrated presentation skills. Candidate will be called upon to train others and present complex datasets and equipment problems/ solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Competent in troubleshooting problems and capable of applying logic to isolate and repair them.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with manufacturing and equipment engineering to deal with issues and priorities
  • Good foundational problem solving skills with creative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work for self
  • A strong desire to help create a positive, winning, world class working environment

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience in equipment engineering in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience in at least one or more of the following tools is preferred: Applied Materials Centura DXZ, Producer or P5000, Novellus Concept 2, WJ-999
  • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of FMEA’s and 8D methodologies is preferred
