About The Position
This is a full-time position for a CV Invasive Specialist in the Electrophysiology department at Morristown Medical Center. The role involves assisting physicians during various Electrophysiology (EP) procedures, preparing procedure rooms and equipment, operating and troubleshooting EP systems, and ensuring accurate documentation. The specialist will also maintain inventory, adhere to safety practices, and support the hospital's commitment to high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Full Time Days, 7a - 7p shift
- Experience in Electrophysiology procedures
- Proficiency with recording systems, ablation generators, and mapping systems
- Knowledge of sterile technique
- Ability to monitor patient status and escalate clinical changes
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and EP reporting systems
- Understanding of radiation safety practices and regulatory standards
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during EP procedures, including diagnostic studies, ablations, and device implants (pacemaker, ICD, CRT).
- Prepare procedure rooms, sterile fields, and specialized EP equipment (recording systems, ablation generators, mapping systems).
- Operate and troubleshoot EP monitoring and recording systems, documenting intracardiac signals and procedural data.
- Support sterile technique and assist with patient preparation, draping, and positioning.
- Monitor patient status during procedures in collaboration with RN and anesthesia teams; promptly escalate clinical changes.
- Assist with venous/arterial access setup, catheter preparation, and equipment handling.
- Participate in device interrogations, programming support, and post-procedure care as applicable.
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and EP reporting systems.
- Maintain inventory, stock supplies, and ensure readiness of emergency and procedural equipment.
- Adhere to radiation safety practices and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, infection prevention).
