About The Position

This role involves cutting and marking materials according to patterns and customer demand. The primary responsibilities include reading cutting patterns, knowledge of material spreading, setting up tables, sorting and bundling cut material, and cutting materials with an electric knife. The position also requires maintaining a clean work area, adhering to 5S guidelines, and being a team player. Communication skills are essential for addressing production issues. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Sorting and Bundling cut material to ensure sewing operators receive all components necessary to meet customer demand.

• Ability to cut materials with an electric knife through a pattern.
• Maintain 5S (cleaning & sorting) guidelines within your work area.
