About The Position

Sayre Enterprises offers 2 options for 1st shift: 4- 10 hour days, Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM OR 5- 8 hour days, Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM. This role assists the Department Supervisor to ensure key department objectives are met, including goals regarding safety, quality, and timeliness. The position supports lean manufacturing by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized department. Responsibilities include assigning duties, training employees, and covering for the Supervisor when absent. The role involves developing, recommending, and implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, as well as analyzing and resolving work problems and assisting workers in resolving their own issues. A knowledge of product types and their proper construction is preferred, along with the ability to properly use cutting and/or laminating equipment, operate and comprehend material cutting procedures, and recognize, diagnose, and correct problems with production items. Other related duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff
  • Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; able to manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to visually see and focus on items during process, including but not limited to color, peripheral and depth perception and adjust focus
  • Ability to differentiate colors and have good eye-hand coordination
  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, Word, and Excel and ability to train on and use the Syspro inventory system
  • Continually required to stand, sit and walk (8-10 hours per day and up to 4 hours overtime as needed)
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk and hear and visually see
  • Must be able to lift, move and push up to 70lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of product types and their proper construction preferred
  • Ability to properly use cutting and/or laminating equipment
  • Ability to operate and comprehend material cutting procedures
  • Ability to recognize, diagnose and correct problems with production items
  • Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • At least 1 year of related supervisory experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist Department Supervisor to ensure key department objectives
  • Work with Department Supervisor to meet departmental goals regarding safety, quality, and timeliness
  • Assist Department Supervisor with responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Support lean manufacturing by maintaining a clean, safe and organized department
