About The Position

This role involves performing detailed cutting and trimming tasks on manufactured components, primarily focusing on wind turbine blades. The technician will follow specific work instructions to prepare surfaces, remove defects, apply adhesives, and ensure the structural integrity and finish of the blades. This position requires adherence to strict health and safety protocols, including working in confined spaces when necessary and using appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to lift or carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Requires usage of respirator.
• Must complete practical to obtain Lam I, Lam II certifications.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED or related experience.
• Previous Manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and adapt to changes.
• Scuff laminate surface with pneumatic grinder to remove gloss.
• Remove laminate defects with different pneumatic tools.
• Apply glue to areas with voids (inside and outside the blade).
• Adhere to confined space plan when working inside the blade.
• Grind excess glass & Resin inside and outside the root end.
• Clean dust and debris from the inside of the blade.
• Wear designated personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain 5s standards.
