Cut Off Saw Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
The Cut-Off Saw Operator is responsible for maintaining stock, setting up saw equipment, and cutting stock into specific lengths as required for production. This role involves receiving and maintaining aluminum stock, performing saw equipment setups according to procedure, and replacing saw blades as needed. The operator will assist in loading and unloading stock from the saw table, operate the cut-off saw to run production, and ensure all length and quantity requirements are met according to job travelers and procedures. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the stock supply room, participating in total quality management projects for continuous improvement, and engaging in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required. Operating a forklift and performing other duties as instructed by APP leadership are also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area at all time.
- English (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension)
- Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Receive and maintain aluminum stock.
- Perform set-ups of saw and saw equipment according to procedure.
- Replace saw blade as needed.
- Assist in loading and unloading stock from saw table.
- Operate the cut-off saw.
- Run production, assuring all requirements for length and quantity are met as per job travelers and procedures.
- Maintain the stock supply room.
- Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
- Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required.
- Operate a forklift.
- Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by APP leadership.
