About The Position

This role involves performing cut and grind tasks according to work instructions, ensuring all safety protocols are followed, especially concerning chemical usage. The technician will be responsible for preparing laminate surfaces, trimming excess material, and repairing defects within the blades, which may involve working in confined spaces.

Requirements

• Ability to lift or carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Requires wearing of respirator.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED or related experience
• Previous Manufacturing experience
• Previous experience working with wind turbine blades or composite

Responsibilities

• Perform cut and grind tasks following work instructions
• Wear all personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety instructions regarding chemical usage
• Scuff laminate surface, cut off any extra flange and dried glass along the edge of the blade
• Apply glue to any area with glue voids
• Perform repairs to defects inside the blade (confined space)
