About The Position

Cartamundi is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Export Inspector to support the accurate and compliant movement of goods across international borders, with a primary focus on exports to Mexico. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring shipment documentation, product information, and export transactions meet all applicable customs and trade compliance requirements for many of the world’s most popular playing Card Games, Trading Card Games, and Board Game brands in the world!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, warehouse operations, customs compliance, or international trade.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, or cross-border transportation providers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting exports to Mexico or maquiladora operations.
  • Knowledge of IMMEX, USMCA, HTS classifications, and customs documentation requirements.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and approve export documentation for shipments entering Mexico.
  • Coordinate daily activities with customs brokers, freight forwarders, transportation providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Validate material descriptions, item numbers, quantities, country of origin information, and shipment details for accuracy prior to export.
  • Perform physical inspections of shipments to confirm counts and product identification match shipping documentation.
  • Ensure commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other export documents are complete and accurate.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving shipment quantities, material numbers, documentation, or customs requirements.
  • Maintain accurate shipment and compliance records within SAP and related systems.
  • Monitor shipment status and communicate delays, exceptions, or compliance concerns to management.
  • Support audits related to customs, trade compliance, IMMEX, USMCA, and other import/export requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable U.S. and Mexican customs regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
