About The Position

The Customs Compliance Specialist is responsible for analyzing associated customs documentation and policies for regulatory compliance. This role involves reviewing and enforcing goods classifications and associated tariff codes, reporting customs regulations violations to appropriate agencies, and providing top-tier customer service to clients and suppliers.   • A minimum of 3 years of customer service/general office data entry experience.

  • Customs Brokerage License strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and complete entry files, POAs and duty payments via ACH
  • Responsible for onboarding new customers with POAs and work with clients on HTS codes
  • Review documentation and assess accuracy, verifying country of origin/export, IOR, and terms of sale and value to ensure that compliance and federal regulations requirements are achieved.
  • Reporting and managing our statement processing on a daily basis.
  • Audit commercial documents, apply harmonize tariff schedule code for accurate duty assessment and to ensure all federal requirements are met
  • Processing file break/down, classifying data entry, photocopying, scanning and assembling of entries.
  • Provide customer service to clients and their suppliers and maintain revenues from the client base and contracted vendor.
  • Daily follow up on documentation discrepancy issues. Ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins.
  • Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
