About The Position

RTX Corporation is seeking a Customs Compliance Analyst to join their RTX Enterprise Services team. This role is part of the Purchasing Compliance & Audits team and focuses on executing Customs compliance and operations work. The ideal candidate will have experience in an exporter/importer environment or with Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Department of State & Commerce Licensing, policy, or government relations. The Analyst will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing day-to-day import transactions, providing classification support, and assisting with the development and upgrade of classification training materials. This position will also work with global trade management programs like SAP GTS to ensure data accuracy and process correctness, ultimately ensuring RTX complies with all import and export classification regulations.

Requirements

  • University Degree and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 1+ years of experience.
  • Experience executing Customs Compliance and Operations work in an Exporter/importer environment or Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Department of State & Commerce Licensing, policy, or government relations field.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Translate regulatory declaration requirements into comprehensive easy-to-understand consultative guidance in order to ensure compliance and facilitate shipment execution.
  • Work with internal programs and function; Global Trade, Shipping, Receiving, International Logistics, Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders.
  • Review valuation, country of origin and product related information obtained for accuracy.
  • Generate the required documentation necessary for import clearance instructions using SAP-based and other systems.
  • Ensure compliant submission of import entry instructions to Customs Brokers, including management of customer expectations through collaboration, complete record keeping packages, and management of licensing requirements.
  • Assess the accuracy of documentation provided by Customs Broker.
  • Monitor, escalate, and resolve Agent-filer service failures.
  • Operate in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Recommends updates to processes and tools to accommodate compliant and facilitative goods flow.
  • Represent the organization as primary contact for import declaration filings with internal customers and third party service providers.
  • Interface closely with colleagues in various businesses to identify and understand Raytheon’s products and supply chains.
  • Support the classification processes in SAP GTS and other systems as used.
  • Classify products with accurate Harmonized Tariff classifications (HTS), Schedule B, and other government agency classifications based on product attributes.
