About The Position

This position will have responsibility for preparing, reviewing, and submitting U.S. Customs entries to ensure compliant and timely importation of goods. This role supports licensed Customs Brokers by handling entry documentation, tariff classification, data accuracy, and coordination with government agencies, while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish written and oral communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of how organizations function and how to get things done through formal and informal channels.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year import/export experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and transmit high-volume land border customs entries (01, 03) through ACE in compliance with CBP regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of the information declared on the Customs Entry Summary (CF 7501) including the Harmonized Tariff Schedule number, description, importer of record number, country of origin, duty rate, AD/CVD case numbers, Special Program Indicator (SPI) and entered value and work with the Customshouse Broker and the Customs Specialist to facilitate corrections as needed.
  • Process truck and FAST lane entries, ensuring timely clearance to minimize border delays.
  • Accurately classify imported merchandise using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS).
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, transportation documents, and ACE data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and respond to CBP holds, secondary inspections, and X-ray examinations.
  • Process shipments subject to Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements, including FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC, and DOT.
  • Communicate professionally with CBP officers and Port personnel to resolve entry discrepancies or delays.
  • Assist with post-entry corrections, amendments, and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records in accordance with CBP recordkeeping requirements.
  • Identify potential compliance risks common to border operations and escalate concerns to the Licensed Customs Broker.
  • Meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume border environment, including same-day clearances.
  • Support C-TPAT, FAST, and Trusted Trader Program requirements when applicable.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and proprietary information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support brokerage operations.
