About The Position

Pratt Miller is looking for a Customer Support Program (CSP) Engineer to join its Competition Engineering Department. The CSP engineering role contributes to the Corvette GT3 program with exposure to internal stakeholders, external customers, and vehicle/system development in various capacities.

Requirements

  • BS in engineering or other advanced technical background
  • Background in motorsport with 2 years of experience
  • Background in vehicle dynamics and controls engineering
  • General engineering background
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics
  • Familiar with data acquisition systems
  • Experience with PI Toolbox, PI Workshop, Bosch WinDarab, Bosch RaceCon, Racelogic/Vbox Motorsports
  • Vehicle Simulation Experience with OptimumG ChassisSim
  • Driver in the Loop Experience in general data review and processing
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Python, Excel

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for vehicle operation and customer support.
  • Support teams with vehicle operation and service through use of internal documentation, tool sets, and knowledge base.
  • Provide pre-event support and shop-based preparation to assist customers with vehicle operation and configuration recommendations.
  • Track and communicate recommended vehicle hardware and software updates and status.
  • Track championship rules, regulations, and series updates.
  • Provide at-event support of tracking vehicle operation through vehicle data processing and information distribution.
  • Monitor critical vehicle system performance.
  • Track customer hardware, performance, and functional related feedback for customer and internal use.
  • Provide simulation support throughout events.
  • Provide post-event support to advance customer and program level understanding and development.
  • Document and report performance and hardware operation or issues.
  • Derive program level objectives and deliverables from at-event learnings.
  • Contribute to vehicle development initiatives including vehicle setup/performance, vehicle hardware integration, and general subsystem development.
  • Provide in-person support of offsite testing.
  • Develop tools and processes to aid in the above listed tasks.
  • Provide simulation support, including baseline vehicle model correlation and specific event performance sensitivity generation.
  • Generate development content for specific test events or larger scale development programs.
  • Provide in-person support of offsite testing for either internal or customer support of DiL testing.
  • Maintain and develop reporting documentation and process for event and engineering level projects.
  • Regularly lead discussions with internal teams on program-specific assigned tasks.
  • Interface heavily with primary supplier and customer base, handling communication and interaction in a collaborative manner.
  • Interact with other groups within Pratt & Miller and outside in relation to execution of duties.
  • Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development as necessary.
  • Provide feedback on product needs and processes.
  • Support Program Management on process developments and improvements.
