This position manages operational activities by providing customer support and service to suppliers, customers, and internal sales force. The role is responsible for managing monthly pricing for accuracy to ensure profit margins are met, anticipating volume required by customers with estimated production from the mills, and ensuring mill product and vessel sail dates are accurately aligned with required delivery dates for customers. The specialist will manage key supplier and customer sales operations concerns, acting as the primary point of contact and escalating concerns to Sr. Management when applicable. They will make decisions to move cargo, prioritize shipments, and approve additional costs. The role involves evaluating rates from logistical providers, managing risk including unsold inventory and Letter of Credit exposure, and managing inventory in multiple warehouse locations with monthly reconciliations. Additionally, the specialist will analyze and identify business needs to implement solutions for increasing revenue and driving business related to logistics and sales, develop and implement system enhancements, and manage monthly financial sales and inventory reports. The role also involves evaluating transactions from a credit and risk management perspective, collaborating with the finance department to monitor credit lines, and visiting business partners to cultivate relationships and explore new opportunities. Special projects and assignments as business dictates are also part of the role.
