About The Position

As our Customer Success Engineer (CSE), you hold the keys to our customer health. You will act as the technical bridge between our clients' engineering teams and our internal development squad. You will become a certified "Super User" of ProTreat® and SulphurPro®. You will apply your Chemical Engineering foundation not just to standard petroleum refining, but to the cutting-edge future of energy—including complex carbon capture initiatives in the refining sector and our highly anticipated commercial expansion into the pharmaceuticals market. Your mission is simple: Drive software use by our customers, ensure engineering success, and protect OGT’s license renewal rate.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering is strictly required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience within petroleum refining, gas processing, or a highly related chemical engineering sector, with a deep comfort level presenting to and training other engineers. Internships Count!
  • Demonstrated proficiency with chemical process simulation software, with an intense drive to master the underlying mass-transfer and kinetics frameworks of ProTreat® and SulphurPro®.
  • A solid understanding of current petroleum refining processes, with a strong interest in emerging green-energy applications like carbon capture, sequestration, and specialized fluid processing.
  • A proactive communicator who doesn't wait for a customer to log a ticket, but instead loves building relationships and teaching technical concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical relationship with existing accounts to maximize user adoption, driving proactive outreach to maintain a near-100% annual subscription renewal rate.
  • Conduct frequent contact with client accounts to ensure the primary "go-to" engineering champion is active, identify new users within the organization, and uncover unmapped departments where OGT software can add value.
  • Assist client engineers in constructing advanced simulation "cases" and complex process flowsheets directly inside ProTreat® and SulphurPro®.
  • Lead deep-dive post-sales customer training sessions, customized seminars, and technical webinars to highlight new software releases and feature updates.
  • Serve as a dedicated technical support resource, troubleshooting complex process anomalies, tower hydraulics, and simulation convergence issues for users.
  • Partner with the sales team to spot organic upsell opportunities, identifying where clients need additional licensing tiers, user seats, or module expansions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer; harvest direct engineering feedback regarding software UI, capability needs, and desired improvements, feeding this data directly to OGT’s management and code development teams.
