About The Position

Lob was founded in 2013 with a vision to connect the world one mailbox at a time, transforming how businesses use direct mail by bringing technology to a traditionally manual channel. Their modern logistics and fulfillment engine helps businesses build and scale high-quality, personalized direct mail programs without operational burden. As the company grows, they are building a team to shape the future of direct mail. Solutions Engineers serve as technical counterparts to Account Management teams, playing a critical role in onboarding and implementing solutions for customers to ensure successful direct mail programs. The company is looking for experienced Solutions Engineers with deep technical curiosity and customer empathy who can build trusted partnerships with Account Managers to accelerate time-to-value and ensure successful deployment, adoption, retention, and growth.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tech/SaaS experience in an Implementation, Onboarding, Solutions Architect, or Post-Sale Solutions Engineer role
  • Technical proficiency on APIs and third-party integrations
  • Working knowledge of software platforms including CRM, CDP or marketing automation tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences
  • Flexibility: This is a 100% remote role, with expected travel of approximately 20-25%

Nice To Haves

  • Experience presenting to Marketing and Technical Professionals including Directors/VPs of Marketing and CMOs
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects and simultaneously support the Account Management team
  • Deep experience with technical project management and managing implementation timelines
  • Logistics or Direct Mail experience is a significant plus

Responsibilities

  • Complete Lob’s new hire training & onboarding program to gain a broader understanding of products and role fit within the organization (within 3 months)
  • Partner with the Director of Solutions Engineering to define key success metrics for the role and how to measure against them (within 3 months)
  • Shadow Solutions Engineers on implementation kick-offs and technical advisory sessions to learn best practices and deployment strategies (within 3 months)
  • Dive into the platform to learn about its unique features and why customers love the solutions (within 3 months)
  • Learn Lob’s implementation process, documentation standards, and common customer integration architectures (within 3 months)
  • Complete a mock implementation kickoff and solution design review to ensure comprehension (within 3 months)
  • Regularly meet with Account Managers to define a relationship that ensures seamless communication and coordination on all customer implementation projects and technical expansions (within 6 months)
  • Lead technical implementations independently with minimal oversight (within 6 months)
  • Consult with customers to document and validate their technical requirements and translate them into a successful implementation plan (within 6 months)
  • Fully grasp the various use cases for direct mail (within 6 months)
  • Successfully manage and execute multiple complex customer implementation projects to go-live (within 6 months)
  • Become a Lob and direct mail expert to confidently speak to ever-changing trends, new product features and platform enhancements to help customers realize their full potential and accomplish their goals (within 6 months)
