About The Position

Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is seeking a Customer Services Representative I to join our Community Engagement team. This position plays an important role in creating a positive experience for District customers and the public. As a key first point of contact, you will assist customers with questions, provide information about District services, support retail billing and payment activities, update customer information, research routine customer concerns, and help ensure customers are connected with the right resources. We are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys working with people, can manage multiple priorities, and takes pride in providing professional, responsive, and courteous service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to provide courteous and professional service to customers and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and interruptions while maintaining accuracy.
  • Basic computer, keyboarding, and math skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn specialized customer service and utility billing software.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers by phone and in person.
  • Respond to customer questions and provide information about District services and retail billing.
  • Assist with customer accounts, payments, account updates, and other customer service transactions.
  • Research routine payment, billing, and water service questions and help resolve customer concerns.
  • Use District software systems to support customer service, billing, and account activities.
  • Process and maintain accurate records for customer payments, cash transactions, and deposits.
  • Communicate with customers and District staff to ensure questions and requests are handled accurately and promptly.
  • Welcome and assist visitors, vendors, Board members, and other members of the public and connect them with the appropriate District staff or services.
  • Support scheduling, correspondence, data entry, records management, mail, deliveries, and other administrative activities that contribute to efficient customer service operations.
  • Identify issues requiring additional attention and appropriately escalate customer concerns or other important matters.
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Services staff and other departments while looking for opportunities to improve processes and service.
