About The Position

The Customer Service Specialist will be responsible for various duties within the WIC/Health and Nutrition program. This role involves managing a multi-line phone system, scheduling appointments, processing applications, and providing community resource referrals. Additionally, the specialist will greet clients, issue electronic benefits, and maintain proficiency in breastfeeding curriculum. Responsibilities also include verifying household income for eligibility, performing anthropometric and hematological measurements, and adhering to OSHA standards. The position requires flexibility for clinic assignments and a commitment to promoting a trauma-informed, empowering, and diverse culture.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Competent word processing and computer skills
Desire to participate in and promote a trauma-informed empowering culture that celebrates diversity

Nice To Haves

WIC experience preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls using multi-line phone system and respond to all voicemail messages
Schedule participant appointments for all clinics
Process online applications and referrals from community partners
Provide referrals to community resources
Greet clients arriving for appointments and completing the check-in process
Issue electronic benefits to participants
Maintain proficiency in breastfeeding curriculum and promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment in all clinics
Check for adjunct eligibility in statewide database
Verify household income and determine eligibility
Perform anthropometric and hematological measurements by standard procedure
Observe universal precautions and comply with all OSHA standards
Other duties as assigned including flexible clinic assignments
