About The Position

Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC), the #1 firearms auction house in the world, is searching for a full-time Customer Service Specialist in Rock Island, Illinois! This role involves delivering world-class customer support as the first point-of-contact for buyers, collectors, and gun enthusiasts across the globe. The position requires being a communication champion with prompt follow-up, meticulous attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound decision-making. This non-exempt, full-time position is 100% on-site.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and apply ATF compliance and internal protocols.
  • Ability to consistently deliver world-class customer support with professional image and conduct with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers (including Microsoft Office) and office equipment.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time with occasional moving and transporting up to 25 pounds.
  • Minimum one year of experience in customer service, administrative support, or a related role.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in auction services, retail, or high-volume customer interaction environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers via phone, email, live chat, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist customers with auction registrations, bidding inquiries, including ability to input bids, assist with payments, and general account support.
  • Outbound calling for solicitation of bids and contacting clients.
  • Process customer invoices and post-auction follow-ups, ensuring timely payments and account updates.
  • Create and update customer data within multiple in-house databases.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting professional relationships with buyers and collectors.
  • Keep accurate records of customer interactions.
  • Support and encourage teammates to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Engage in active listening and problem solving with customers.
