About The Position

Join Our Team! We’re looking for a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Customer Service & Operations Representative to join a busy scrap yard operation in Moulton, AL. This is a hands-on administrative role that keeps several parts of the operation moving smoothly. You’ll work directly with customers, drivers, suppliers, and internal team members while assisting with customer service, scale operations, transportation, shipping, inventory, bookkeeping, and general office administration. If you enjoy staying busy, working with people, and handling a variety of responsibilities throughout your day, this could be a great opportunity for you!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in office administration, warehouse administration, customer service, or a similar role
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computer-based systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable, professional, resourceful, and team-oriented
  • Ability to remain calm and accurate while working under pressure
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Moulton, AL.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide clear instructions throughout their visit.
  • Learn to operate the truck scale in accordance with State of Alabama requirements.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to customers, suppliers, drivers, and team members.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with customer questions.
  • Process transactions, enter information, prepare settlements, and assist with check processing.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Assist with dispatching shipments and coordinating transportation with carriers.
  • Schedule and manage pickups and deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time.
  • Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation.
  • Record shipment details and ensure required paperwork is completed correctly.
  • Accurately enter and maintain inventory transactions.
  • Assist with tracking raw materials and finished goods.
  • Convert unfinished inventory into finished inventory tags as required.
  • Collect, copy, and tally production sheets for reporting.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory and production records.
  • Maintain and balance the daily check register.
  • Organize and file settlements and incoming/outgoing shipment paperwork.
  • Assist with accounts payable documentation, coding, copying, and invoice processing.
  • Help maintain and track petty cash.
  • Process information using scrap purchasing and inventory software.
  • Order warehouse and office supplies as needed.
  • Maintain office supply inventory.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Provide additional administrative and operational support as needed.
