About The Position

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is entrusted to provide excellent service and set a positive tone for every customer while serving as the liaison between patients and clinical staff. The CSR demonstrates self-confidence, adaptability, and personal initiative. The CSR coordinates customer encounters and serves as the communication hub for the clinic, in an attentive, courteous, and competent manner. This role is part of a values-driven organization dedicated to delivering exceptional care and making life better for the community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong data entry and computer skills

  • Previous receptionist, clerical and/or secretarial experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service and set a positive tone for every customer.
  • Serve as the liaison between patients and clinical staff.
  • Coordinate customer encounters and serve as the communication hub for the clinic.
  • Support obtaining referrals and authorizations.
  • Handle financial transactions.
  • Manage the patient's medical records and clinic and hospital billing and coding.
  • Build productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter.
  • Demonstrate teamwork.
  • Actively participate in the department.
  • Implement SJRMC's Service Standards into daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship.
  • Set limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families to ensure a safe, respectful environment.
  • Cope and strive for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families.
