About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer service at a U-Haul center. Working as part of a supportive team, the representative assists customers with U-Haul products and services, helps customers on their journeys, and uses technology to dispatch and return equipment. The role also involves inspecting and maintaining equipment. On-the-job education is offered, including ongoing learning through U-Haul University and certification opportunities for propane filling and forklift operation. The position is located at 12768 Inkster Rd, Redford, Michigan 48239. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
U-Haul does not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Michigan.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and explain products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul after employment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
