About The Position

Arrow Sanitary, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Customer Service Representative to work in our Call Center in Portland, OR! This role involves interacting with customers to handle service requests, resolve disputes, and solicit new services. The position requires effective use of software applications, including MS Word and Excel, and maintaining a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced, high call volume environment. The Customer Service Representative will also be responsible for covering the reception desk when necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • 2 years of Customer Service or Call Center experience.
  • Typing and 10-key skills are required.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Email preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve customer disputes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to become proficient in the use of proprietary operational systems.
  • Interview customers and record interview information into the computer for customer service.
  • Talk with customers by phone and in person to receive orders for installation, turn on, discontinuance, or change in service.
  • Fill out contract forms, determine charges for service requested, collect deposits, prepare change of address records and issue discontinuance orders.
  • Demonstrate effective use of software applications, at a minimum MS Word and Excel proficient.
  • Deliver services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill.
  • Interact with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements and resolve problems or complaints via phone & by email.
  • Work in a fast paced, cooperative, high call volume environment.
  • Solicit sale of new or additional services.
  • Cover for the reception desk when necessary.
