The Customer Service Representative is a vital member of our team, responsible for maintaining accurate client data and delivering exceptional customer service to protect working families and contribute to UIG's growth. This role involves internal and external interactions, utilizing our management operating system, and continuous education to enhance insurance knowledge and business acumen. There is a potential career path to an Account Manager position.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED required.
  • Experience in an administrative or customer service role, preferably in a labor or insurance related organization.
  • Experience using technology and willingness to learn.
  • Illinois Property and Casualty License within three months of employment.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Customer service orientated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of constituencies, including clients, insurance companies and labor leaders.
  • Ability to maintain composure and a friendly professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment setting serving a wide-range of customers and companies.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise discretion due to confidential nature of the work.
  • Ability to use technology for communication, presentation and development. Competent with MS Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer confidence and satisfaction through email and phone interactions, as well as preparing documents for customer and underwriter review.
  • Verify client risks and exposures are correctly matched to policy and initiating any required changes.
  • Keep the team on track by assisting with applications and setting up renewal and pre-renewal files.
  • Solve problems by working with clients and companies to resolve issues, acting as a liaison when necessary and referring unresolved customer grievances or complex customer interactions to senior team members.
  • Be a steward of customer data through input and maintenance of client information such as recording customer interactions and transactions and detailing inquiries, complaints and comments.
  • Participate in UIG growth and development by attending agency meetings and following agency guidelines with a continual focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
