About The Position

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for processing telephone orders from call-in customers and associates. This role handles client requests for various products and supplies, including industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding and safety equipment, power and hand tools, and more. The representative will build and sustain strong client relationships by handling inbound calls, helping customers determine their product requirements, and processing orders. They will collaborate with internal teams—including account managers, branch store operations, and distribution—to efficiently address and resolve any order conflicts. Additionally, the role involves liaising with vendors to gather product details, verify availability, and obtain pricing information. The representative must ensure all necessary documentation is completed and filed accurately on a timely basis, while utilizing the computer system to input sales and quote data and research customer inquiries. This position also requires adherence to Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service and/or sales experience.
  • Knowledge of computer skills: documents, spreadsheets, email, etc.
  • Excellent customer skills
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) year degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding, gases, industrial, safety supply sales.
