About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Sales and Customer Service division in the Southeast region. We are looking for a values-driven, positive, and motivated professional with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to provide excellent service to our customers. This role involves supporting regional customer service activities, including order and quote entry, RMA processing, pricing and contract negotiation, and managing customer specifications. The position requires clear communication with customers and sales representatives regarding deliverables and other service issues, with some guidance from supervisors and peers. Successful candidates will also complete required process certifications and use their judgment, experience, and company policies to resolve customer issues.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • An associate degree or related business experience.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Can travel regionally up to 10% of the time.
  • Can learn concepts and technical details of products.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Can work cooperatively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or CRM tools.
  • Experience in a technical sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing world-class customer care to both internal and external customers.
  • Engaging in regional customer support activities, including accurate entry of orders & quotes, RMA's, pricing negotiation, contract negotiation, and creation/maintenance of customer unique specifications.
  • Communicating with customers and sales representatives on deliverables and any additional customer service issues with some work direction from supervisor and peers.
  • Complete and pass required Customer Service Representative process certifications provided by SEL.
  • Using judgment skills, prior experience, and company policies and procedures to resolve standard and in-region problems.
  • Assisting with customer feedback tracking and driving to customer satisfaction.
