About The Position

We are looking for a friendly, reliable Customer Service Representative to be the first point of contact for our customers and drivers at our Mount Vernon or Bellingham location. This role involves significant phone and in-person interaction, payment processing, record keeping, and coordination with various internal teams. The position is based in the facility's scale house, requiring weighing trucks, assigning commodities, and performing audits. Occasional support at other locations may be required.

Requirements

• At least two years of customer service experience.
• Experience with phone-based support is ideal.
• Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with scales.
• Experience in the scrap metal industry.

Responsibilities

• Answering incoming calls and addressing customer questions.
• Routing inquiries to the appropriate team member.
• Greeting drivers and customers and assisting them through processes.
• Processing cash, check, and credit card payments.
• Managing till reconciliation during opening and closing.
• Maintaining accurate records for invoicing and reporting.
• Coordinating with dispatch, yard staff, and management.
• Maintaining a clean and organized front office.
• Weighing inbound and outbound trucks.
• Assigning correct commodities to trucks.
• Performing routine audits for accuracy.
• Providing occasional backup support at other locations.
