About The Position

Provides exceptional customer service and maintains a customer focused culture. This role is responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions, including receiving and cashing checks, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper completion, and entering transactions into computer records. The representative will balance their cash drawer, compare totals to computer-generated sheets, and report any discrepancies. They will also handle various customer requests such as account holds, stop-payment orders, and address changes. Additionally, the role involves promoting and explaining financial institution services and products, identifying cross-sell opportunities, and referring customers to appropriate sales members. Other duties include assisting with night depository functions, ensuring the deposit area is stocked, performing branch capture of transactions, and continually increasing product and service knowledge. The representative will make product and service recommendations to Banking Center Managers, comply with all financial institution policies and procedures, and actively achieve individual sales, referral, operational, and community involvement goals. The ability to perform new account activities, back-up head personal banker, and ATM oversight is also required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of personal banker experience (including completion of in-house training).
  • Proven ability to cross-sell, perform new account activities, and/or other higher-level activities (ATM, EFT, etc.).
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Good computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer transactions.
  • Receive and cash checks and cash for accounts.
  • Verify amounts and examine checks for proper completion.
  • Enter transactions into computer records.
  • Balance cash drawer and compare totals to computer-generated sheets.
  • Report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
  • Accept a variety of customer requests, such as account holds, stop-payment orders, address changes, and similar special services.
  • Promote and explain financial institution services and products based on customer's needs, within compliance of financial institutions standards.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and refer customers to appropriate sales members.
  • Assist in the night depository function.
  • Ensure the deposit area is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Perform Branch Capture of transactions.
  • Continually increase product and service knowledge to meet customer demands.
  • Make product and service recommendations to Banking Center Managers.
  • Comply with all financial institutions policies and procedures.
  • Actively achieve individual sales, referral, operational, and community involvement goals.
  • Perform new account activities, back-up head personal banker, ATM oversight, EFT, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
